I was delighted and sincerely honored to learn that I was selected as the recipient of the FONL Scholarship. Your generosity is allowing me to make my goal a reality.

Currently, I serve as the Nursing Director of the Wound Ostomy and Continence Department at NCH Healthcare System. I am completing my last semester of a Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate Program at Bradley University. To expand my current scope of practice, I will need to be licensed as an advanced practice nurse. Currently, I am a master-prepared licensed registered nurse and a Certified Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurse (CWOCN). After completing the Bradley FNP Certificate Program and becoming a licensed Advanced Practice Nurse, I intend to meet the requirements and testing attendant to practice as a CWOCN-AP. Obtaining my CWOCN-AP certificate will make me the first CWOCN-AP in Southwest Florida, and I would be able to deliver a higher quality of patient care on a more cost-effective basis.

Your generosity is allowing me to make my goal a reality.

Thank you very much.
